Online EMDR and Trauma Therapy in Pennsylvania
Jess Stern, LPC, EMDRIA-certified EMDR therapist. Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania.
Finding a trauma specialist who does EMDR, IFS, and actually has openings can feel impossible. I work with adults anywhere in Pennsylvania by secure video, so where you live doesn't limit who you can see.
Who do I help in Pennsylvania?
Adults from Philadelphia and Pittsburgh to Harrisburg, the Lehigh Valley, and small towns in between. Most come to me after talk therapy helped them understand their trauma but didn't change how it feels. Common reasons people reach out:
Childhood, relational, or complex trauma
Dissociation or feeling numb and far away
A harsh inner critic and patterns you can't seem to break
LGBTQ+ identity, family rejection, or religious trauma
Depression or PTSD that's been treatment-resistant
What approaches do you use?
EMDR is the core of my work: it helps your nervous system process stuck memories so they lose their charge. I use Internal Family Systems (IFS) to work with the parts of you that are still protecting you, and somatic tools to keep you grounded. For some clients, ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) is part of the plan. I handle preparation and integration and help you find a prescriber.
How does payment work for Pennsylvania clients?
I'm an out-of-network provider in Pennsylvania. Sessions start at $199 for 45 minutes, and I provide a monthly superbill you can submit to your insurance. Many PPO plans reimburse 50 to 80% after the out-of-network deductible. You can check your benefits in about a minute on my Rates & Insurance page.
Frequently asked questions
Why aren't you in-network in Pennsylvania?
My insurance panels through Headway cover DC, Maryland, and Virginia. Paying privately also keeps your care between us, with no diagnosis shared with an insurer unless you submit a superbill.
Do I need to live in Pennsylvania?
You need to be physically in Pennsylvania, DC, Maryland, or Virginia during each session.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on what you're working on. A single event may take a few months; complex trauma often takes longer. We'll review progress together regularly.
